How to get yourself motivated on cold days?

With the weather so cold and gray here in Chicago I decided to whip up a smoothie that reminds me of warm and tropical places.  As a Mom of three kids, and being constantly on the move I find it very difficult to find the time to create and make things from scratch.  Over the past few months I realized something so critical to my overall health and wellbeing—and that’s when I’m creating or building something from scratch (like writing my blog or cooking) I am in a zone of complete flow.  These moments are characterized by complete joy, and full immersion in the activity.  I get so excited by the process of creating that time flies by so quickly.

Today, I’d like to ask you, what are your moments of joy, and flow?

My recipe for a Pina Colada Smoothie

⅔ Cup of pineapple chunks

½ cup coconut water

½ cup unsweetened almond milk

¼ cup low fat Greek yogurt

½ teaspoon ground chia seed (optional)

Blend all the ingredients together.  I use the Magic Bullet to blend and mix all my smoothies.
