Freshii-The newest place to hit the Chicago suburbs

The Green Machine of Eat, Energize, and owner of Freshii-Matthew Corrin caught my attention as he appeared on the cover of my Alumni Gazette magazine of Western University in Canada. As I gazed over the pictures of a scrumptious wrap and a veggie juice I was thoroughly intrigued. Instantly I knew I wanted to read more on the subject.
Determined to get people eating healthier, the visionary Matthew Corrin opened his first store in 2005 in Toronto Canada. Simply stated the menu consists of soups, salads, wraps, bowls, frozen yogurt and smoothies.

So to get a first-hand experience we decided to take a family trip and try Freshii. The closest restaurant to our home is in Evanston. I soon found out that there are approximately 10 Freshii restaurants in downtown Chicago. More impressively, Freshii is expanding into eight Target Stores across Chicago, with one opening up here in my own suburb of Glenview to replace a Pizza Hut. This is a concerted effort by the large retailer to reinvent its image with a healthy twist. I was ecstatic to hear the news.

My husband ordered the tex mex burrito, my son got the cobb salad, I ordered the teriyaki twist bowl along with the #lifesupport green juice. Our table fell into a deep silence as we indulged in our healthy meals. Bite after delicious bite we finished our meals in complete delight and the utmost satisfaction. Flavorful, hearty, and fresh were some of the words we used to describe our first freshii experience. After one taste we knew we were hooked, this is defiantly going to be an experience worth having over and over again.   Yes it was that good!
